The Ekiti State Higher Institution Games ESHIGA came again with another interesting sporting event this year making it the 3rd of its kind as a total number of 8 higher institutions competed for the trophy.
The competition which involved all the higher institutions in Ekiti state included different indoor and outdoor games for both males and females.
The event commenced on the 4th of march and came to an end on the 7th of March, 2019 in Afe Babalola University Ado-Ekiti which is the host institution where winners in all categories will be awarded.
FUOYE’s team has since the commencement of this event exhibited fantastic performances.
The institution’s male football team popularly known as FUOYE KINGS defeated the Ijero male football team with 6 goals to 1 at the knockout stage.
Similarly, FUOYE female football team has also proved their worth by defeating the College of Health Science and Technology Ijero,by a goal to nil.
FUOYE KINGS on Tuesday recorded another win in the semifinals against EKSU with a goal to nil.
The final match of the football competition was played today, between FUOYE kings and Afe Babalola football team.
The match ended goalless after the full time before the teams proceeded to a penalty shootout where FUOYE side emerged the winner.
In athletics, races of different meters ranging from 100m to 500m were won by both the male and female team. Other games FUOYE team recorded a win in are Chess, Table Tennis and Basketball.
