A coalition of civil society organizers (Civil Society Groups for Good Governance) led by the Coalition’s President, Comrade Ogukwu Dominic showered accolades on the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Professor Kayode Soremekun for his laudable achievements; the group said they were overwhelmed by the achievements of the Vice- Chancellor since his assumption of duties.
According, to Comrade Dominic, the team had earlier visited all the campuses of the University, had a facility tour of both complete and ongoing projects as well as interacted with cross-section of both staff and students which led to their second visit to submit a complete report to the University. He said, copies of the same report have been forwarded to the Federal Ministry of Education, National Universities Commissions, TETFUND and other relevant agencies. The report for Professor Kayode Soremekun was presented alongside certificate of achievements.
Coalition Boss further said, the organization is the coming together over One Hundred Civil Society organization across Nigeria with the objective of evaluating the performance of Government Officials at various levels of Government. He expressed delight with what the group saw in the Federal University Oye-Ekiti and described the report as very objective and verifiable.
Responding, Professor Soremekun said he was elated with the report and pledged the doors of his administration open for such free will initiatives. The Don maintained that with his background in Civil Society activities, he has so much respect for them and therefore has confidence in the report. He added that those achievements recorded and the more to come were as a result of the cooperation he overwhelmingly enjoys from his management, team, staff and students. He further said the report will further spur him to do more while admonishing the coalition to continue to work for progress of the Nigerian Nation.
