The Federal University of Oye-Ekiti held an inauguration ceremony for the newly appointed Vice Chancellor, Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina.

The event held on the 11th of February 2021 at the University’s Administrative building.

Professor Fasina served as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administrations, under the leadership of the erstwhile Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode Soremekun.

He was appointed as the Vice Chancellor on January 6th, 2021. He emerged as the fourth Vice Chancellor of the university since it was founded in 2011.

The event witnessed the presence of important dignitaries. In attendance were the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi who represented the State Governor, Kayode Fayemi and the Commissioner of Culture, Arts, Tourism Professor Ojo Bakare.

Also, the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Professor Kayode Soremekun, principal officers, and the Deans of all Faculties in the institution graced the occasion.

While delivering his inaugural speech titled “Building the FUOYE of Our Dreams”, the new Vice Chancellor highlighted procedures and steps that will be taken to make FUOYE a better university.

“My dream is to transform FUOYE to a first-class university within the shortest possible time”, he said.
