
The Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAN) has authorized the establishment of an examination centre in FUOYE’s premises, says FUOYE.
According to the university website, this is contained in a correspondence sent to the Vice-Chancellor of the institution Professor Kayode Soremekun dated November 27, 2018 and signed by I.B Momoh on behalf of the Registrar and Chief Executive of the body.
According to the ICAN Chief, the correspondence follows the University`s request for the establishment of examination center in its premises.
“We are pleased to inform you that the council of the institution has approved the Examination Center. The center is expected to start with the March 2019 diet of ATSWA examination”, the statement reads. It adds that the March 2019 diet of ATSWA Examinations is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 and Wednesday, 13, 2019.
Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor of FUOYE, Professor Kayode Soremekun said, it was one of the steps employed to showcase the fast growing university to relevant professional bodies, the country and the globe at large.
This partnership with ICAN according to him is to acquaint the institution undergraduate who wish to make a career in Accountancy with the procedures for qualifications for reading the pinnacle of the profession. He also said other members of the community can also take advantage of the partnership.
Professor Soremekun said his administration is open to all professional bodies who will want to partner with FUOYE while assuring that ICAN will never regret its decision as it will be the beginning of a mutual and beneficial relationship between the university and the prestigious institute.
