The former acting president of the Federal University Student Union, Adekola Francis, has analyzed the N3.7 million expenditure at the fair hearing held on Saturday at the second sitting of the Students’ Representative Council.

Recall that the Students’ Representative Council had earlier sent an invitation of fair hearing to him after it was alleged the former acting president mismanaged students funds.

Adekola reacted that the Students Representative Council’s allowance resulted to N300,000 in total while the President’s allowance resulted to N250,000 for 2 months. President office imprest cost N60,000 and miscellaneous resulted N45,000.

He also stated that the Vice President’s allowance summed up to N120,000 for 4 months as the General Secretary’s allowance resulted to N100,000. This was confirmed by Adebowale Daniel, the then acting General Secretary who said “…they gave me N100,000.”

Adekola stated further that the Welfare Director allowance cost N90,000 for 6 months while the Public Relations Officer’s allowance resulted to N150,000 for 6 months.

Also, the former acting Public Relations Officer, Olagunju Olanrewaju, acknowledged the receipt of N150,000 in an interview with UCJ FUOYE. “I was given N150,000 for six months,” he noted.

Meanwhile, the former acting Welfare Director, Ogunleye Akinloluwa confirmed the receipt of allowance but he claimed he didn’t remember how much he (Ogunleye Akinoliuwa) was paid.
Adekola, who is also known as Fada, said that the Covid-19 awareness handbills incurred N150,000 while office startup fund for emerging executives was N200,000. Nose cover project for the prevention of coronavirus resulted to N2,000,000.

While reacting to the issue of the Aluta wagon, he made it known that FUOYESU official vehicle, aluta wagon also incurred a part of the N3.7 million naira. “Windscreen of the vehicle cost N50,000 and four tires resulted in N80,000. Vehicle gasket cost N15,000 while painting and panel beating resulted in N70,000.”

Meanwhile, the investigation panel has released a memo stating the names of people to be invited for the next panel meeting for the purpose of questioning.

The invitees are Comrade Olagunju Olanrewaju, Comrade Alabi Sunday, Comrade Faweya Oluwaseun, Comrade Esan Femi, Comrade Yunus Abdulahi Adetunji, Comrade Awe Adedapo.

Also on the list are Comrade Adeleye Adedapo, Comrade Raji Sobur, Comrade Anifowose Temitope, Comrade Ibuowo Olalekan and Comrade Adebowale Daniel.

The memo also stated that the panel would also pay a visit to the students affairs and school management for further fact checking purposes.
